Introduction to BSL and Deaf Awareness Workshop
Do you want to learn about Deaf culture and gain an introduction to British Sign Language?
Then this workshop may be for you!
An introduction to the world of deaf people and their lived experiences. There will be a variety of presentation, group work, practical tasks and group discussions. You’ll gain insights into how everyday normalised behaviours can be disabling. You’ll be introduced to the basics of BSL and communication skills that enable effective engagement with deaf people. You’ll also explore Deaf history, culture and evolutions in technology.
Come join us at the beautiful University of Sussex campus for a workshop in June!
