This information is for students who will be studying abroad (either for a term, year or a summer school) at one of Sussex’s international partner institutions.

*PLEASE NOTE : After the Deadline, you will be contacted by the Sussex Abroad team with confirmation of your Travel Cover.  Details about how you can claim with UMAL will also be included.

All students studying abroad must have fully comprehensive Travel Cover which will provide cover amongst other things for emergency medical treatment, repatriation and theft of personal belongings or money. Sussex have facilitated a comprehensive group Travel Cover for students studying abroad and you are able to take out this cover by following the process below. Alternatively, you can research alternative policies and purchase alternative travel cover, if you prefer to do it this way. 

If you decide to purchase your own Travel Cover, please note you have responsibility for checking that the policy offers adequate cover. You will be asked to confirm that the policy you have taken out offers the same or superior levels of cover to those outlined in this minimum requirements document.
