This two-hour workshop will explore what inclusive fertility care looks like for LGBTQ+ patients and how services can put it into practice. Drawing on more than 15 years of psychological research by the speaker, alongside the wider social scientific evidence base, the session will consider how fertility services can support LGBTQ+ patients throughout treatment, from their first contact with a clinic through to becoming parents.
The workshop will explore the experiences of different LGBTQ+ patient groups, considering both common challenges and individual needs. Particular attention will be given to routes to parenthood involving donor conception and surrogacy, as well as the questions and uncertainties that can arise around family formation, parenthood and children’s identities.
Participants will gain evidence-based insights and practical ideas for creating more inclusive fertility services, including considerations for clinic environments, staff training, communication, and service delivery.
Bespoke consultations for individual organisations are also available on request.
We will email you the access link to this workshop, and instructions on how to join, few days before the workshop scheduled date. All attendees will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the workshop.
