12 weekly meetings, 1.5 hours each

*Easter Break: Sat 21st March – Sun 12th April 2026 (3 weeks)

Detailed Description

An introduction for complete beginners to the language of everyday situations. There is emphasis on understanding and communicating.

The course aims to give you sufficient language to be able to deal with simple everyday situations, to include: Personal information, family and society • Directions, time and numbers • Travel, transport and business • Food and drink  • Leisure.

Grammar and functions included are: gender • case • articles • partitives • present tense, one past tense and one future form of common regular and irregular verbs • negatives • questions • descriptions • adjectives and adverbs • personal pronouns • polite/familiar forms • prepositions • possessives •

You will be given an insight into the culture of the country within the framework of your language studies. You will be encouraged to work out your own strategy for study in line with the syllabus and your own perceived needs. There will be an opportunity to study personal cultural interests linked to the language.
