Broadcaster Claudia Hammond hosts CHILL OUT!

Join broadcaster Claudia Hammond and University of Sussex psychologists Professor Gilly Forrester and Dr Gillian Sandstrom for an evening of vibrant discussion on what insights from psychological research can teach us about what's happening in our brains and bodies when we are overwhelmed, to the surprising benefits of alleviating anxiety by talking to strangers, and why, under the right circumstances, stress can be a tactical advantage.

In the latest Think Again! panel show we learn what stress does to us and how to stop it getting the better of us. From dwindling job markets and financial uncertainty to climate change and global instability, there is plenty to make us feel out of our depth in the modern world. Add to those the stresses of day-to-day life and it's no wonder that we can feel overwhelmed. How much can our brains and bodies tolerate and how do we find balance?

Join broadcaster Claudia Hammond and University of Sussex psychologists Professor Gilly Forrester and Dr Gillian Sandstrom for an evening of vibrant discussion on what insights from psychological research can teach us about what's happening in our brains and bodies when we are overwhelmed, the surprising ways we benefit when we face the anxiety of talking to strangers, and why, under the right circumstances, stress can be a tactical advantage.

Join us for an evening of relatable and applied cutting-edge science, just for adults with an interactive Q&A. The show includes an interval with a pay bar.
