Additional information
The ability to remember enables us to live independent lives. Moreover, the majority of our conversations involve recounting memories from our lives; both our personal experiences as well as things we have experienced second-hand. Prof Bird’s research focusses on understanding how memory works. He and his research group at the University of Sussex use a combination of psychology experiments and functional MRI, carried out in both healthy adults as well as adults with memory problems caused by neurological damage. Prof Bird uses naturalistic materials, such as videos and stories, to understand how memory operates in everyday situations. In this Professorial Lecture, he will describe his academic journey and discuss recent breakthroughs in our understanding of how the brain underpins different aspects of memory. £5 Standard£3 Reduced (Students, Retired) |
