Bath and Stonehenge (2017 - Session 1) COACH B

Date: 2 July 2017
Time: 6:45 – 22:00
Take a trip to mysterious Stonehenge, England’s most important prehistoric monument. Stop at the beautiful regency city of Bath in the West Country, home of the ancient Roman Baths.

Note: Lunch is not included in the price. It is quite a long trip so have a hearty breakfast before setting off, and bring extra snacks with you.

Detailed Description

We will arrive in Bath mid-morning and will begin the day with a city tour. After this there will be some free time for lunch when you will be able to explore the city on your own and grab something to eat. We will then visit the traditional Roman Baths. The Baths were built in 60-70AD and gradually built up over the next 300 years. They are incredible to see first-hand.

Following this we will get back on the coach and head to the Stonehenge site. You will have a couple of hours to explore the Stone Circle and also the newly developed Visitors Centre. The Centre includes a 360 degree cinema at its heart which allows visitors to “experience” standing in the ancient circle. There are also films about the conflicting theories behind the founding of the circle, as well as facial reconstructions of Neolithic man, exhibits about the circle's construction and over 300 prehistoric artefacts, many of which are on display for the first time.
