A short workshop introducing systematic reviews.
Systematic reviews and meta-analyses are at the top of the hierarchy of evidence. This workshop introduces you to the theory and conduct of systematic reviews. It includes designing your search strategy; PRISMA diagrams; filtering results; quality assessment of studies; data extraction and presentation; heterogeneity; and meta-analysis. By the end of the workshop you should be able to plan and conduct your own systematic review.
Each year the Department of Medical Education in Brighton and Sussex Medical School run research skills workshops for those undertaking research at Masters level (or above). Staff and post-graduate students from Sussex University and Brighton University are also welcome to attend. These workshops cost £50 to attend if you aren’t an enrolled DME student.
The workshop will run 10:00 – 16:30 on Thursday 22 March.
There will be a lunch break but please note that no lunch will be provided.
Workshops will be held at Brighton University, Falmer Campus.
