A half day workshop covering issues in working with and analysing qualitative data.
This workshop will introduce you to the range of types of qualitative data (including visual data) and some of the basic principles required in presenting qualitative data and doing qualitative data analysis. This workshop is interactive and participants will have opportunities to experience coding and thematic analysis of qualitative data. The workshop will introduce some of the issues involved in CAQDAS (Computer-aided qualitative data analysis and software), with special reference to NVivo, but this workshop is not intended to offer a lab-based, ‘hands on’ experience of NVivo.
Each year the Department of Medical Education in Brighton and Sussex Medical School run research skills workshops for those undertaking research at Masters level (or above). Staff and post-graduate students from Sussex University and Brighton University are also welcome to attend. These workshops cost £50 to attend if you aren’t an enrolled DME student.
The workshop will run 10:30 – 15:00 on Thursday 26 April 2018.
There will be a lunch break but please note that no lunch will be provided.
Workshops will be held at Brighton University, Falmer Campus.
